Architectural Digest

Experimental Mixed Media Series

Architectural Digest (2020–2024) is a series of experimental mixed-media artworks exploring the composition of rural and urban landscapes, ranging from the towering skyscrapers of New York City to the expansive cornfields of rural Kansas. This body of work seeks to reinterpret three-dimensional environments by deconstructing their forms into two-dimensional compositions, utilizing geometric abstraction and pure color fields.

The series employs a distinctive technique that mimics the appearance of stained glass. This effect is achieved through the deliberate application of black ink, which is poured onto the canvas to create segmented forms, each subsequently filled with color. By reducing architectural and natural landscapes to their essential geometric components, the works emphasize the structural essence of space while simultaneously evoking a sense of visual fragmentation and unity.
